Our Purpose Statement
It is our desire to reach out to the community
as a witness for Jesus Christ; sharing in friendship, family and love; magnifying God through praise and for worship; motivating
and training young Christians in their growth in Christ; by administering, developing and encouraging future leaders.
Our Location and Affiliation
Pleasant Union General Baptist Church is located in the Deerlick community
outside of Lewisburg, KY, in Logan County.
Pleasant Union is a member of the Long Creek Association
of General Baptists, and nationally, the General Association of General Baptists in Poplar Bluff, MO. We
strive to share the love of Jesus Christ and extend it to our church, community and surrounding area as an extension of God's
grace and mercy. Love is the very nature of God and we hope you will experience God's love among our church family.
Our History
At Pleasant Union, we strive to

Pleasant Union was organized in 1885 in the beautiful community of Deerlick, near Lewisburg, Ky. Remaining
in the same location since its inception, the church is still going strong today. In March 1941, the old church was torn down
and a new building was dedicated, which has since seen additions to improve the facility, including a new sanctuary wing and
Sunday School rooms.
In October 2005, Pleasant Union dedicated its current facility with
a complete remodel of the sanctuary, foyer, offices and all interior and exterior design of those areas. The remodel included
a new wing and seating section, new nursery, bathrooms, offices, library and sound room, and a reconstruction of the interior
stage and choir loft. Entrances were moved to the sides of the building to accomodate a massive new foyer and spectacular
glass block center window.
Pleasant Union is dedicated to the service of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, and works daily to carry the Gospel and God's plan of salvation, through worship, preaching and teaching,
and a various number of local and outreach service programs.
With a down-home, friendly church atmosphere, we hope
that you will feel comfortable and welcome as a part of our church family.
